Wife of slain Customs official wants Ayyan Ali’s name to remain on ECL

RAWALPINDI (Web Desk) – Dollar girl once again in trouble after Saima Chaudhry, wife of slain Customs sub-inspector Chaudhry Ijaz, filed a petition in the court for not removing her name from the Exit Control List (ECL).
According to media reports, the petition stated in her plea that Chaudhry Ijaz was killed while Ayyan’s money laundering and currency smuggling case was going on. The deceased was a central witness in the currency smuggling case.
The petitioner also stated that her husband had recorded a statement against Ayyan in the currency smuggling case. During the investigation of the case, she claimed that her husband had been murdered, adding that her husband was in charge of a warehouse where the amount recovered from Ayyan Ali was kept.
While requesting the apex court to continue travel ban on Ayyan Ali, Saima insisted that Ayyan Ali should not be allowed to flee the country until the judicial inquiry into the money laundering case comes to a conclusion.
